If you are traveling, please do so safely and keep an eye out for those escaped turkeys!

We want to wish everyone a safe and Happy Thanksgiving this holiday season!

Prayer Requests

At this time we are asking for a special prayer request for the Lacy and Horning family.  It is with a heavy heart that we announce this news.  Last week Landon “Bear” Lacy’s grandmother, Dana Horning, passed away in a fatal car accident in eastern Kansas.  Please keep the family and friends in your prayers as they will need all the love and support they can get in this time of need.

Landon Enjoys the Eureka, KS PRCA Show

landon lacyLandon Lacy, known to most by “Bear”, is a five year old double amputee.  He has been amputated since February 10th 2015.  His legs were webbed 90 degrees back to his butt.  He could never stretch his legs out in front of him.   Bear has had over 30 surgeries.  Not being able to move his legs caused horrible pain.

Bear became introduced to transformers at about the age of 3.  That’s when he figured out transformers legs can come off and you can add different legs back on them.  Bear came to us and asked if he can have his legs cut off and put “transformer legs” on him.  We said “sure, that’s what we are going to try and do.” He was excited and could not wait.  When the day came for surgery he was so brave.  When he woke up from surgery he had the biggest smile ever because his legs were amputated.  Bear wanted his transformer legs NOW!

With several months of hard work Steve Peeples, with Peeple’s Orthotics and Prosthetics, made the “transformers” legs happen.  Bear is learning how to walk again.  Bear loves people, especially doctors and nurses.  He is a fan of anything to do with Transformers.  Bears favorite TV shows include: Spongebob, Paw Patrol, and Curious George.  He loves going to school and will be attending kindergarten at West Elementary in Vally Center.  Bear loves to perform tricks for people, playing with other children, swimming, and to be in parades.  His best friends are the cartoonists from the Wichita Shrine Temple.  (Especially Elmo)  Bear lives with his Grandma Dana and Grandpa Chris Horning and his two dogs in Park City, Kansas.

Bear tries very hard to be independent and has the “Can Do Anything” attitude!
